Terms of Service

Last updated: February 21, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Quastus platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.

If you are using the Service on behalf of a school, district, or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

Quastus is an AI-powered educational platform that provides guided autonomous self-reflection for students. The Service enables teachers to create lessons, and students to engage in AI-guided reflection to build critical thinking and independent learning skills.

We reserve the right to modify, update, or discontinue features of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice to users when possible.

3. User Accounts

Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account information up to date.

Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

Account Types

The Service supports different account types including teacher accounts, student accounts, and administrator accounts. Each account type has specific permissions and capabilities within the platform.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
  • Use the Service to transmit harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
  • Use automated means to access the Service without our permission
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation

5. Educational Content

Teacher Content

Teachers retain ownership of the lesson content they create and upload to the platform. By uploading content, you grant Quastus a limited license to use, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.

Student Content

Student reflections and responses submitted through the platform are owned by the student (or their parent/guardian for minors). Quastus processes this content solely to provide AI-guided feedback and does not claim ownership of student work.

AI-Generated Content

The AI-guided feedback provided by the Service is generated automatically and is intended to support learning, not replace professional educational judgment. Teachers should exercise their own discretion in evaluating student understanding.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, functionality, and underlying technology, is owned by Quastus and is protected by intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in the Service beyond the limited right to use it as described herein.

The Quastus name, logo, and all related marks are trademarks of Quastus. You may not use these marks without our prior written permission.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure. AI-generated feedback should not be considered a substitute for professional educational assessment.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Quastus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from:

  • Your use or inability to use the Service
  • Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers
  • Any interruption or cessation of the Service
  • Any errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason, with notice when reasonably possible.

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. Any provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation, and if necessary, through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the platform or via email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
